My North Penn High School Odyssey of the Mind team recently won first place in the Pennsylvania Odyssey of the Mind (OM) State Finals and advanced to the 2019 World Finals competition at Michigan State University held on May 22-26. Our team competed in a Technical Problem called Hide in Plain Sight and created a mechanical creature that performed specific tasks and changed appearance to blend into its environment during our performance.
What is Odysssey of the Mind ?
OM is a creative problem solving competition. Teams of seven students select a problem, create a solution and present their solution in a regional tournament. Teams that place in the regional competition advance to State Finals and those who place at States advance to World Finals. At this ultimate competition, over 800 teams from around the globe compete to be crowned World Champions. Twenty teams will be awarded this honor.
An experience to remember
The chance to go to the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals is a once in a lifetime opportunity and has been my dream since I started competing in first grade. Being on a college campus, surrounded by passionate and creative students from around the world will be a life-changing and inspiring experience that my teammates and I will remember for the rest of our lives.

I am seeking sponsors and donations to help offset the cost of attending the World Finals competition. I deeply appreciate any assistance you can provide to help me get to Michigan State University. Your donation will go a long way towards providing us with an opportunity to showcase our talents and creativity, meet students from other countries, and proudly represent North Penn School District.
