Help the Hudson Family!

Our dear friends, the Hudson family (Emily, Joseph, Connor (11) and Carter (8) had to be rescued by boat from their flooding home due to Hurricane Harvey. The water was 3 feet deep inside their home's first floor and they lost almost everything. They are so thankful for their safety but I can only imagine what it will take to restore their home and start over. They were in the 500 year flood plain and therefore did not have any flood insurance. So many people have asked how they can help, so I made this donation page in hopes of relieving some of the stress of their long road ahead.

Here is what Emily said about that terrible day: "We are SO thankful to be safe and have each other! On Monday morning at 6am I awoke to 6 inches of water rising in our home. We quickly grabbed some valuables to move upstairs, then packed a bag and hung a sheet out our window to flag a rescue boat. By the time the boat was able to get us, we had been standing in knee deep cold water in the rain. Once on the boat we were taken to higher ground and then had to walk to safety. We were lucky to have friends near that took us in to change into warm clothes and dry off, then we continued our trek to another wonderful friends home that let us stay the night. During the days since, we keep wondering when we will wake up from this nightmare. We lost so much but are feeling very blessed by all of the friends, family and strangers that have helped us clean out our house, and take it down to the studs. We are feeling the love and support from everyone near and far!"
