My name is Glenn Andreiev. I am a Long Island based filmmaker and film historian. My latest film, LONG ISLAND JOINS THE SPACE RACE is being well received at its first screenings. I have chosen as my next film, the story of Nazi Saboteurs who landed on Long Island during World War 2. It is a true life thriller- a police procedural with twists, atmosphere and double-crosses. I am working with over 3,400 pages of American and British law enforcement reports, trial transcripts as well as news items and Coast Guard reports from 1942

January 2024 Newsday article about my latest film, LONG ISLAND JOINS THE SPACE RACE.

THE STORY- It's 1942, and George John Dasch who recently moved from America to Germany, is drafted into a secret mission. He and other men will train for a sabotage plot where they will be taken to the United States by submarine. Their mission-destroy American factories, railways and to attack Jewish-owned businesses.

One night during his sabotage training, Dash sneaks into the woods and sets fire to a copy of Hitler's Mein-Kampf, mockingly telling Hitler he's going to destroy this sabotage plan. Dasch pretends the role of a loyal Nazi intent on carrying out the plan.
The saboteurs land at Amagansett Beach on the South Shore of Long Island shortly after midnight on June 13th. Dasch bribes an inquiring Coast Guardsman with $300 to "go away and forget what you saw." When the Coast Guardsman returns to the beach with his superiors, George and the Nazis are gone, but discover a box containing explosives. Meanwhile, George and his men take a train from Amagansett to Jamaica, Queens.

Word of the Nazi Landing reaches the FBI as well as the offices of the Metro Union a New York City newspaper. While Manhattan is on edge, fearing a Nazi air raid, investigative reporter Mildred Neilsen starts gathering information.

Funds are needed to finish the screenplay, plan out a budget and create a short promotional video with interviews. All donors will be acknowledged in the credits of the video short. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the project.
Here are some of the Saboteurs at their trial in Summer 1942.

Here are the police "mug shots" of the eight Saboteurs. The title of the film is EIGHT DEADLY MEN, when it is really SIX, for a very good and surprising reason.
