Troy's Medical Expenses For Surgery

sagitTal cRaniOsYnostosis--two words that have become a huge part of our lives. Our sweet, happy little Troy was born with craniosynostosis--a condition in which the sutures close prematurely, causing problems with normal brain and skull growth and premature closure of the fontanelles (soft spots). Specially his sagittal suture is affected, the most common type. Craniosynostosis occurs in about 1 in 2,000 births. At birth we noticed Troy had a ridge down the back of his head. X-rays early on suggested there was no fusion. As time passed we enjoyed our baby, while monitoring his head growth. In May we received the referral he needed and met with an awesome team of doctors and surgeons. I believe God's timing has been just right in this journey. Troy has developed and hit milestones early or on time. However, left untreated craniosynostosis will cause many health and developmental problems. He will need surgery to reconstruct his skull in order to give his brain room to grow. It's not easy watching your baby go through something so big and so scary. We know God made Troy to show others how strong someone small can be. Troy has been spreading joy through hospital halls and waiting rooms with his one dimple smile. Next up is his surgery--we know our Cranio Warrior will prevail with the God of angel armies watching over him. The Lord advances like a warrior; He stirs up His zeal like a soldier.
