Comfort for Cassie
Donation protected
Dear friends,
My wonderful best friend, Cassie, lost her husband early this morning. After weeks of fighting, Logan Richard Hurst went home to be with his Heavenly Father. As you can imagine, Cassie's heart is broken into a million pieces, as are the hearts of Logan's family and so many others.
At the beginning of this year, I was going through something really hard. Cassie and Logan were there for me and showed me the love of Jesus in a way that I will never forget. One night I was sitting on my couch crying, when Logan texted me some adorable pictures of their dog, Belle, with some silly captions to go along with them. That same night, Cassie and Logan sent me dessert from my favorite restaurant. God used these small acts of kindness to strengthen and sustain me when I was in a really dark place. This is just one example of their hearts of kindness and compassion for people.
With that being said, I am asking for you to pray for Cassie, specifically for the peace and strength that only God can provide. Please also pray for Logan’s family, students, friends and anyone else who is grieving the loss of his presence in their lives. In addition to praying, please consider joining me in making a monetary donation to Cassie as she navigates the painful journey ahead. There will be medical bills and additional expenses too great to count. While this won’t take away the grief Cassie is experiencing, it will eliminate one huge burden. This is a tangible way we can show her our love, and that she is not going to walk this road alone. We can do something for her that she and Logan have done so well for others.
Logan will be dearly missed here on earth, but we can find comfort knowing that he is resting in the arms of Jesus. I am grateful that God promises to bring good from the worst of things, even when we don’t understand. I am also thankful that He faithfully remains by our side on both the mountaintops and in the deepest of valleys. He is with Cassie and for Cassie, and He is with and for the rest of us, too.
There are stories of the way so many of you have already lifted Cassie up through prayers, gifts and meals. You have been the hands and feet of Jesus. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, but please don’t stop now. Cassie needs her community of believers more than ever before. Please continue praying and consider supporting her financially if you are able.
With love & gratitude,
Katie Krieger
