Educational Trip to Budapest, Hungary

Donation protected
This summer (May 18 - June 4) I will be going on an educational trip to Budapest, Hungary through the University of San Francisco's Honors College. In Budapest, we will be studying how the city and its demographics came to be through the lens of photography.

This will be the first time I travel outside of the United States and I believe that it will be a transformative educational experience. Not only will I receive two Honors College course credits while on this trip, but I will also get a chance to be completely immersed in non-American culture. I believe that there is so much to be learned from other cultures, that will ultimately allow me to have a deeper understanding of myself and the culture and customs which shape who I am. I also believe that there is much for me to learn from the city of Budapest itself when it comes to understanding the problems and possible solutions to those problems in the two cities I now call home, San Francisco and New Orleans.

Although I received a $3,000 scholarship which covers university tuition for this trip, there are still substantial expenses associated with this trip. Here is a breakdown of expenses which I would be grateful to have your contribution go towards:
-$1,650: Housing, Excursions/Field Studies, Cultural Activities, Local Transportation
-$850: Roundtrip Flight (SF to Budapest and back again)
-$500: 17 days worth of meals (I'm a growing boy)

Any and every contribution to my trip would be absolutely vital, as I do not have very much disposable income and my parents are already helping me as much as they can financially. Even if you can only donate a few dollars I'd be very grateful (I'm sure you have to tip in Budapest too). I will be sure to keep my donors updated on activities surrounding the Budapest trip and will make it a priority to share what I learn with on the trip with them.

Thank you for considering my campaign,
