Trinket's Knee Surgery

Our sweet dog Trinket needs knee surgery. He is 16 months old, and has a congenital condition that causes the tendons in his joints to be weak, which means that no pet insurance policy will help cover the cost of this procedure.

Due to this condition, his patella (knee cap) doesn't stay in place, causing it to dislocate frequently while walking. It's painful for him to walk or play which is why we want to get him this surgery so he'll be able to enjoy being a dog again.

We've received an estimate from the surgeon putting the total bill around $5,000. We have already paid ~$400 for the initial consultation with the surgeon and medicine out of pocket. We have been told that we will need to pay the bill in-full on the day of the surgery, with 75% due before they will begin the procedure. The surgery is currently scheduled for May 6th, so we have less than a month to raise the funds.

Unfortunately, I was recently laid off from work, and while I am applying for new jobs and taking on some freelance and contract work on top of that, there's no way we can raise this much money without help.

The goal is set at $6,000 so that any additional funds raised above the cost of medical expenses can help us get dog gates and other supplies needed to help with Trinket's recovery, and to cover the fees that GoFundMe charges. Thank you in advance to anyone willing to help!
