Trikone Chicago Pride 2022: We're Back!

Tax deductible

On June 30, 2019, Trikone Chicago marched in the 50th Annual Chicago Pride Parade as a registered not-for-profit organization for queer South Asians and their family, friends, allies, and community.

We did not know it at the time, but this would be the last pride parade for three long years as the COVID-19 pandemic forced significant cities worldwide to scale back large-gathering events in 2020 and 2021.

The 2019 parade was a blast. We pulled off everything without a hitch: 4 hours of nonstop Bollywood dancing and representation, loud and proud through the Northalsted neighborhoods of Chicago. Thanks to your generosity that year, we had over 40 marchers in the parade, and smiles and cheers were shared.

We kept our spirits alive during the COVID-19 pandemic by adhering to virtual gatherings and maintaining the health and safety of our friends and families. With the City of Chicago permitting the parade to happen in Summer 2022, on June 26, we are ready to get back out and march, loud and proud.

Trikone Chicago is a registered not-for-profit organization for queer South Asians and their family, friends, allies, and community. We represent all rainbow colors: gay, lesbian, bisexual, asexual, intersex, non-binary, transgender, white, brown, black, Latinx, straight, queer; you name it, we welcome it. But we want YOU to help us amp it up even more by giving South Asia its voice in the movement.

Trikone stands for Safety, and Visibility, of the South Asian queer community. In the City of Chicago, Trikone has created a bastion for community members by hosting cultural nights, film festivals, literary events, awareness campaigns, pride celebrations, and additional collaborative programming.

This year, we will be creating a Bollywood-themed Float, which will host banners, colors, beautiful drag queens and kings, DJs, dancers, and more. We will march, dance, sing, and celebrate our authentic selves. Our target fundraising will cover the cost of renting the float, parade entrance fees, decorations, water and snacks for the marchers.

Want to join me in making a difference? We welcome any contributions, large or small, to help us fund this incredible event. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause; that means so much to us!
