Tricklebee Café (Est. Nov. 2016) is in the Sherman Park community of Milwaukee (45th St. & North Ave.). We are a pay-what-you-can community cafe that offers healthy meals, food service training, and spiritual nourishment. We are situated in an area which provides little access to healthy, local, and affordable food options (a food desert).
We are currently finalizing a solar panel installation project. We hope to be fully powered by the sun this Spring. Some technical issues have caused a delay and we seek urgent funding to help us in this situation. Thank you for donating to our cause!
People of all backgrounds gather in our cafe to enjoy delicious, nutritious, freshly-prepared meals, regardless of their ability to pay. As a member of the One World Everybody Eats (OWEE) Network, guests may make a donation for their meal (we estimate that each meal costs about $7.22-$9.22 to make), or they can volunteer in exchange for their meal. Tricklebee Café is both a café and a chapel, allowing for continual feasting and sacred encounters with neighbors and the divine.
We are a sustainable cafe, relying on the seasonal harvests of local farmers, gardeners, & food rescuers to compose our menu (which changes on a daily basis). We seek to give food to the hungry, drink to the thirsty, and welcome to the stranger.
