Tricia Fogal’s Hope 4 Cancer

Tricia Fogal - wife, mother to 5 children, and grandmother of 7.  Please take this opportunity to help her beat the odds against cancer. 

Tricia and Ken have been married for over 43 years and together, have raised their five children; Ben, Sarah, Michelle, Jackie, and Teresa. She is the grandmother to seven beautiful grandchildren and has been the glue that has held the Fogal family together. 

Anyone who knows Tricia knows that she is spunky, generous, and accepting of everyone she meets. She has always had a way of connecting with everyone who crosses her path - even when she had five kids in tow. :-) She is passionate about learning and has always worked hard to live a healthy lifestyle.

For the past few months, Tricia had been growing increasingly fatigued and then more recently suffering bouts of abdominal pain that landed her in urgent care looking for answers. After several doctor’s appointments and a referral to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, Tricia’s original diagnosis by Cuyuna Regional Medical Center was confirmed. 

In October of 2019,  Tricia was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer of the colon, liver, and lung, and that surgery was not an option because it had also spread to the peritoneal cavity. This aggressive form of cancer comes with a limited life expectancy and Tricia was sent home to begin palliative chemotherapy. 

After being told by the Mayo that chemotherapy was her only option and would likely only extend her life for a short period of time, Ken and Tricia began to look elsewhere and refused to accept that fate.  With surgery not being an option and chemo only offering the possibility of a little more time with her family, they decided to seek progressive, integrative and promising options that are unfortunately not covered by health insurance. And for the first time since the diagnosis, Tricia and Ken finally have hope…at Hope4Cancer, a cancer treatment center in Mexico. Hope4Cancer has helped thousands of people diagnosed with various stage 4 cancers become and stay cancer free.  Knowing people who have been personally impacted by this treatment center, the Fogal family is extremely hopeful for a better outcome than the one anticipated by chemotherapy alone. However, out-of- pocket expenses associated with already-incurred medical bills and this treatment program has already exceeded $55,000. 

With Ken’s loss of income due to needing to take off work for Tricia’s appointments and her upcoming treatment at Hope4Cancer, these costs have caused financial strain on Tricia and Ken when their focus should be on getting better.
