Tribute to Harris County Constable - Omar Ursin

Hi all, my name is Chris Hards. On Sunday, August 28th, 2022, my childhood best friend, brother-in-law, and Harris County Pct. 3 Constable, Omar J. Ursin, was senselessly shot and killed while on his way home from picking up dinner for his family. He had just celebrated his 37th birthday. No one could have expected such a tragic event and we are all still reeling in shock, disbelief, and utter pain from the news.

Family and friends meant everything to Omar. He was a devoted father, husband, brother, and son and there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for his loved ones. He cared about making a difference in his community and volunteered with outreach programs to mentor foster children. He had the biggest heart, a beautiful soul, and an infectious smile and laugh that touched everyone he came across and he was taken from us too soon.

Many people have reached out to ask how they can help or where their financial assistance would be most meaningful. Due to the unexpected nature of his departure, we think your help would be best suited to assist his wife and family in securing the future Omar would have wanted for his 7-year-old daughter Abby, and his wife, my sister, Whitney. 100% of the donations will be to help them through this devastating tragedy and whatever unknown expenditures they may face in the future. Whitney and Abby were Omar’s world and for them to be helped in this way is what I know he would want for them.

Omar, RIP my brother. Our hearts are broken, and our lives are forever changed but your memory will never be forgotten. I promise we will do all we can to take care of your family and I hope it gives you peace as you watch over us from heaven.
