Trevor O'Neil's Family Fund
Trevor O'Neil had a tragic accident the evening of July 2, 2019. He sustained life threatening injuries, from a highly pressurized cover hitting his head from a sandblasting unit, then fell several feet to the ground. Unifor Local 1, the union at the shipyard, is organizing this go fund me to provide assistance to Joan O'Neil; his mother and family during this time.
I know personally, that we all want to help. Workplace injuries, especially ones as critical as this one, is a concern for us all. There were 5,819 Nova Scotian's hurt on the job last year. This number is way too high.
Trevor is in intensive care (critical condition) right now, and we are all praying for his recovery. Please click on the link, and give $1....whatever you can spare. All donations go directly to his family.
Our entire yard stopped today at 10:00 and honoured Trevor with a moment of silence. There will be more to follow.
Unifor Local 1 would like to extend our deepest sympathy, and prayers for the O'Neil family at this difficult time.
This page will remain open until July 31, 2019 to collect donations to Trevor's Mom, Joan O'Neil.
She mentioned that Trevor's condition is the same.
On a positive note, Irving Shipbuilding has issued a statement that they will match donations up to $20,000 received by 31 July 2019.
Unifor Local 1 is very thankful for the support to Trevor, and his family in this difficult time.
