Trent & Aisha's Transplant Journey

Donation protected
I am setting up this account for a dear friend of mine, his loving wife and their son. The journey of Trent’s battle with Polycystic Kidney Disease over the last few years is written in Aisha’s (his wife) own words for her blog and I have shared them below.

High School best friends turned Husband and Wife. I knew from the beginning that I was going to marry this man and on May 26, 2012 I married the love of my life, for better or for worse, in sickness and in health. I knew that Trent was diagnosis with Polycystic Kidney Disease when he was 16 years old. Prior to getting married people asked me if I was worried about marrying him? My answer was always of course not!

In 2015 we received the news that Trent’s kidney function started to decline and we also found out that we were going to be first time parents. Many emotions going on at this time. Our son was born in 2016. Over the next few years Trent was in and out of the hospital but always bounced back.

On January 13, 2018 Trent had his right kidney removed.  He had to immediately start dialysis because his left kidney wasn’t strong enough to do everything on its own. Just as things started to return to our “new normal”, including going to dialysis three times a week, Trent had to have his left kidney removed on May 8, 2018. At this point Trent is relying on dialysis 100% in order to live. Trent met the qualifications to be on the kidney transplant list.

We got the call on August 1st and found out I was a match to be a kidney donor for the love of my life. We are looking at having surgery at the beginning of December 2018. Trent has not been able to work during any of this time and my work has been limited. After surgery I will not be able to work for the minimum of 6 weeks. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

They will be relying on little savings in order to pay their living expenses while they are both recovering. Aisha is a teacher and we all know that they don’t make a lot of money, especially for what they do with our little ones. Trent is only 29, married with one son that is 2 yrs old.  I ask that if you find it in your heart to make any type of donation that you can. All funds raised will go directly to the family. Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers.
