Trees for the children

 All humans deserve a chance to live a life in which they have access to food, clothing, and shelter.  Look into a child’s eyes and you are sure to see a sweet innocence that makes us all smile. Woven Earth in  partnership with the Rainbow Children's home are raising funds to plant fruit- bearing trees that will provide not only food but a source of income for the 40 plus children that reside at the Rainbow Children's Home. The Rainbow Children's Home (http://www.orphancarenepal.org/) is an orphanage in Pokhara Nepal. They grow most of the food for their children (organically)We are in the process of transitioning  the farm to a perennial based food forest. With global warming on the rise and monsoon season becoming so unpredictable, annual based agriculture is becoming less and less reliable. We are hoping to raise enough money to buy mature tree's that will be fruiting within a year's time. These trees are more expensive, but will provide as a seed bank to propagate from. This will allow us to continue the important work of planting trees in other villages. They will also have a higher chance of survival. This work is more important now than ever; the need to sequester carbon from the atmosphere is of utmost importance if humans are going to inhabit the earth.
