Through Indigenous guidance and prayers the Treaty Walkers are answering the Line 5 call! We will migrate over 100 miles from Superior Point on Gitchi’Gami, meaning “Great Sea,” to the Communities United by Water gathering in Ashland on 6/25.

Walking from June 11 to 25, we’re honoring the Treaties and Connecting: Line 3 to Line 5; humans to humans; and spirits to nature.

We’ll walk along the beautiful South shore stopping at Red Cliff and joining Communities United by Water events on June 25th. https://www.wisconsinline5.com/communities-united-by-water-2022?fbclid=IwAR05kZnktwuaNNExFDZ0993Sc_EwC1Daixy9vnrva7-G3yL2p8dTD-FIVgw

Through Treaty teachings, song, prayer, and solidarity with fellow Water Protectors, we intend to cultivate healing on this journey. We walk to honor Treaties -- the supreme law of the land. We pray for Nibi (water), Manoomin (wild rice), and the Anishinaabe land that is being violated by Enbridge. We will bear witness to and celebrate the natural beauty of Mother Earth that we strive to protect.

We begin with ceremony at Wisconsin Point, WI on 6/11 and arrive at Chequamegon Bay in Ashland, WI on 6/25.

By contributing to this fundraiser, you are ensuring that walkers have shelter each night, food to fuel the journey, and support cars to help when needed. Thank you!
