Travis Riley Memorial Scholarship Fund

This memorial scholarship fund is created to help young people pursue an education that might otherwise be challenging for a family to afford. It’s been established to ensure Travis’s legacy lives on and always influence others to develop strong leadership abilities along with high morals and strong values.

Travis contributed to the community by coaching cross country, archery and wrestling at all grade levels, during one time or another.

He was notorious for his generosity, hilarious sense of humor, indebted friendships, and loyal dedication to his loved ones.  He most always put others before himself and without hesitation.

Major Riley proudly served our country in the US Army and built a career in the Kentucky Army National Guard. He is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan where he earned medals, including the Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal, to only name a couple. Unfortunately, Travis lost his life to the mental pain and anguish that can often haunt soldiers and Veterans. 

By establishing this scholarship, Travis’s family and friends hope he’s not only remembered by being another statistic, (22 a day, 154 a week or 8,000 Veterans lose their lives to suicide) but instead remembered for his greatness. His loved ones wish to cherish Travis’ legacy by recognizing something he felt strongly about. Travis believed the dedication and sacrifices parents and students endure to pursue a strong and faith based education early in life will lead to a a foundation that will provide a lifetime of skills.
