Transport my life

My name is Jeff Richcreek, and I am a 62 year old Parapaligic. I recently had to have my right shoulder replaced due to 38 years of overuse from being a full time wheelchair user. The surgery took me from being independent to totally dependent on others for my everyday care. Which was definately a challenge. With the Love and support I am now in the last stage of regaining my independence. This stage requires that I add a power driver seat to my Van. This will allow me to stop using the power wheelchair that surgery forced me into. My return to independence includes getting back into my manual wheelchair which will improve my health by increasing exercise. I need the power driver seat to make it possible to transfer from my manual wheelchair and drive from a regular seat. I am a Veteran and the VA paid for the ramp into the Van. I had to purchase the Van and pay $2500 for the powerchair  lock down and $1500 for the hand controls just to drive.  Independence has been very important to me since my injury and regaining that is critical to my future. I have a goal build a foundation to help families who are suddenly faced with a disabled family member. This freedom to drive will enable a stronger pursuit of that goal.
