TRANS WOMAN HEALTH & TRANSITION FUND

Donation protected
My name is Kylie Aviva Giovanna, I am a 22 year old trans woman living in Birmingham UK. I began my transition around the start of January 2020 after moving from Belfast, Ireland to the UK mainland as I felt transitioning in the north of Ireland wasn’t ideal due to lack of support and resources and I lived in a home with very religious parents. I stared medically transitioning around July of that same year thanks to help from people who donated I was able to afford to go private rather than wait on the NHS extremely long waiting lists, that wasn’t an option for me as this was something that I knew I had to do ASAP as dysphoria was affecting me severely in everyday life. All current donations will go towards being able to help me purchase my medication every 3 months which can be quite expensive because I did go private. Also to help me with other things I deem necessary to alleviate some of my gender dysphoria, including laser hair removal etc. My transition although fair new has already been extremely difficult and I faced many challenges. During the start of my transition I was self medicating with hormones before I found a private clinic, I ran in to some complications and got very sick so it is a huge worry of mine every few months that I may not be able to afford my medication. Ive been unemployed for a while now since losing a job I had during the covid pandemic. I’ve been turned down jobs I know I am over qualified for or that I know I would have gotten if I was cis and I also fear physical violence from people on the streets and in everyday life. This leads to me to my next goal of being able to start saving for surgery. I truly believe that this is the next step in my journey towards alleviating my symptoms of excruciating dysphoria and becoming more at home in the body I was born with. Every day I feel like my features are getting more and more masculine it’s like living in a prison, or being confined to a home that’s not yours. I’ve thought about surgery long and hard and I’m confident this is what I need to do. I am working my ass off in order to be able to afford this, tho I’m not sure if I can do this on my own any help with donations will go straight into my surgery/medication fund. Any amount you can donate at all would be massively appreciated. Even if you can’t donate please share my story, maybe somebody can. Signal boosting is sometimes just as important as donating. Thank you all so much, Kylie x
