Tralee Skatepark - Last Push

Hey everyone! 

Over the past three years a small group of Tralee based skateboarders and BMXers have been campaigning and working alongside Kerry County Council to secure funds for a skatepark in Tralee, Co. Kerry. Kerry is one of the last few counties in Ireland without one.

As of January 2020, Tralee Skatepark Community Group have secured €182,000 from Sports Capital Funding and Kerry County Council. A final €18,000 is required to meet the construction cost - here is where you come in!

Planning has been granted and a tender has been awarded - we are just shy of starting the build. With your help we can see it over the line. Once built it is freely open to the public. The park will be built on the grounds of Tralee Sports Complex where there will be ample parking for any visitors using the park.

We are asking anyone who can to lend their support and donate what they can. 
This will be a fantastic facility and is being built to the highest specification and standard - no temporary wooden or metal ramps! It will be 100% concrete for the best experience. The park is set to include the following:
• Open Bowl
• Spine
• Flat Bank
• Manual Pad
• Grind Rails
• Sets of steps
• Ledges

The park has been designed for all ages and abilities, with ramps and obstacles for all styles of skating. Check out the image gallery for some of the design concept 3D renders of the park.

It is an exciting time for skateboarding and BMXing as both have been introduced to the Olympics (Tokyo 2021). It will be great to have a local facility for our future Olympic athletes.

We hope to raise all funds this summer (2020) to start the build as soon as possible.
