Tragic Shooting of Ice Cream Man

Update 7/3: Ruben is recovering in the ICU after his fifth surgery.  Billy, Gabriela's son, will withdraw funds from the campaign directly.  Your continued support and prayers are needed and I will provide an update as soon as I hear from the family.



Over the last 20 years, Ruben Rivera has brightened communities by providing ice cream and positive memories.  On Wednesday, June 19th 2019, life took a tragic turn when Ruben was robbed at gun point and shot in the stomach while pushing his ice cream cart.  He has had 3 surgeries and the doctors have said that it's now a day to day process.

Mr. Rivera is the sole provider for his household, occasionally working as a roofer to make sure his family is well taken care of.  With Ruben still in the hospital, his family desperately needs our help with day to day living expenses (rent, utilities, groceries).
