On July 6th 2013 Dave was headed to Sodus on his Harley when a 17 year old driver in an SUV failed to stop at a stop sign in Fairville. Dave was taken to Strong by Mercy Flight, the driver of the SUV and his passenger were unharmed.Dave's spine was fractured from T2-T10,C2 and L4. He is classified as a T4 paraplegic.Additional injuries included fractured bilateral scapulas, collorbone, 12 fractured ribs, a punctured lung and a broken/shattered left leg.He spent 4 weeks in the ICU /Trauma center, 1 week in the Medical unit and an additional 4 weeks in the Rehabilitation center before coming home on Sept.6 2013. Many of you know Dave, he is a huge figure in our community. He has helped many families through their grief and hard times after the loss of a loved one. He has brought many smiles to faces while fishing on his boat, "The Fishin Mortician".
