Trackchair for trail accessibility
Donation protected
My name is Jamie Lundgren and I have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. I was diagnosed when I was 3 1/2 yrs old, and at that time my family didn't know if I would see my 16th birthday. Well, praise God, I turned 27 on my birthday in August. My journey with Muscular Dystrophy has made me wheelchair bound and 24hr dependent on a ventilator to breath, but that hasn't stopped me from my passion/ministry of photography, especially landscapes and wildlife of Arizona.
You might be wondering how someone who can't move most of his body and has a ventilator, can take pictures. Well, I can use my left thumb joystick and jaw-tap switch to snap pictures with my digital camera tethered to my computer. I can also drive my power wheelchair, but the trouble is most hiking trails in Arizona are not wheelchair accessible, so I can't get to the places I would like to photograph. I use my pictures weekly (at my church) as backrounds for worship songs and media. Many people tell me they are blessed by them.
If I had an Action Trackchair (see picture), I could actually maneuver on any unpaved walking trail - even down the Grand Canyon! These are the same chairs that have been donated by Wounded Warriors to Veterans like my friend Mike.
This chair would not be covered by my insurance, so I am asking for your support. It would mean so much for me to continue to, as my parents put it, "Get the blessing of service to others". I would be extremely grateful for your help.
In Christ, Jamie Lundgren
