Masjid Al-Wahyain MN - Permanent Building Appeal

[URGENT APPEAL]: HELP ESTABLISH A PERMANENT HOME FOR MASJID AL-WAḤYAIN MN

 

In 2019, Masjid al-Waḥyain launched an urgent appeal to help establish a permanent location for the Masjid in Minnesota. Since its establishment in March of 2015, Masjid al-Wahyain has witnessed significant growth and development and has striven hard to serve the needs of the local Muslim community and beyond. However, several changing circumstances that threaten to impede future growth and undermine years of progress and efforts have led to a shift in strategy in order to establish a permanent home for the community.

 

۞ RENTED BUILDING SOLD ۞

 

The building which Masjid al-Waḥyain was renting and operating from for the past four years was sold in December of 2019 and was immediately redeveloped shortly after the ownership change. On 30 days' notice, the community was forced to immediately vacate the premises.

 

۞ COVID-19 IMPACTS ۞

 

Around the same time, the COVID-19 pandemic emerged, further complicating the transition into finding a temporary space to operate from until we were able to secure a permanent home for the community. Commercial Properties that are zoned for assembly & suitable for use to rent as a Masjid in our region are very difficult to find.

 

The most difficult direct impacts of having to vacate our old facility during the pandemic include;

 

• Community transitioned to establishing Jumu'ah at a rented hall.

 

• Our weekend school (Madrasah al-Wahyain Academy) - which had 80+ students enrolled - was temporarily shut down to reorganize the logistics of how to re-operate. This was a key income source lost.

 

• The Masjid Bookstore (Maktabah al-Wahyain) has also been temporarily shut down, also limiting income until we can reopen.

 

• Not having a space to operate our regular activities from even when COVID-19 restrictions subside.

 

The impacts from the pandemic have further complicated our ability to re-establish our previous operation. We are still working on finding a temporary location to operate from soon in sha Allah.

 

 

۞ NEED FOR A PERMANENT SOLUTION ۞

 

The aforementioned circumstances have caused the leadership of the Masjid to look for a permanent solution for the community to prevent this type of scenario from occurring in the future, where the Masjid does not have a home. A permanent building will ensure we have a place to stabilize our community. The leadership of Masjid Al-Waḥyain has been actively targeting potential properties suitable for a move as soon as possible.
 

۞ CAMPAIGN UPDATE 04.15.22 ۞

After losing out on several opportunities due to lack of available funds over the last 2 years, and consultation with several Muslim realtors, the most viable amount of funds needed to purchase a permanent building would be $850,000. This would be a suitable amount for a building that meets the community's needs. Please support our efforts to build a #HouseofAllah in Minnesota! Your aid and support is needed! 
 

۞ PHASE 1 GOAL REACHED: $200,000 ۞

 

Alhamdulillah, we have successfully reached our phase 1 target goal of $200,000. We thank everyone who has been supportive of the project from our mashaykh, international community of Ahl Al-Sunnah as well as our supportive and strong local community here in MN.  

 

We are still in need of your financial support to reach our goal to raise $850,000. 
 
Please donate what you are able to in order to support us in establishing a permanent home for the community. At the very least, please spread the word about our campaign and make du'a that Allah allows us to settle in a permanent building in sha Allah.

 

We are optimistic that Allah will aid us in re-establishing the community into a more permanent place, and that the community of kind generous Muslims from various regions will aid our efforts in achieving his goal in sha Allah.
