Jackie Mae Townsell Elementary students need to raise money for their class field trip to Austin, Texas! Your donation will go towards our charter buses to get to our state's capital.
Our class trip to Austin, Texas is our favorite and most essential event of the year. We take our fourth graders to Austin to visit the capitol building, explore the Bob Bullock Museum and end our trip with a stop at Baylor University. While at Baylor, they have an opportunity to explore the campus and eat alongside college students at one of the campus cafeterias!
Coming from the most diverse zip code in the United States, our fourth graders are the very foundation of America - representing dozens of different languages, races, and ethnicities.
For many of our fourth graders, this will be the first time they have the opportunity to travel outside of Irving, TX. For most, this will also be the first time they step on a college campus. It is imperative that we inspire our young scholars to dream of going to college, many of whom would be first-generation graduates.
