Are you a passionate lover of the written word? Do you believe we’ve begun to lose that passion for reading in this culture of ours? Would you consider being a part of the cause to preserve that passion? Maybe even reinvigorate it?
How does supporting an author sound? I feel that may be the easiest thing you could do, yet also, possibly, the hardest. Right?
Howdy, I’m John Irvin, my team and I believe in the need to breathe life back into our culture via books. I’m an author and my team is made up of like-minded artists of various shades—our common cause is building this author business to bring books to the public through local bookstores across the States—and even the world, if this is successful.
But, unfortunately, as any business goes, we need finances to start up. I’ve got the books—in fact, I’ve managed to publish 27 books at the time of writing this story.
We need you to help us share these books with the world. We need your support to take the culture by storm and reach the next generation with a love for books.
How are we going to go about that? Well, like I said, I’ve got 27 books published and the plan is to go on my first Author Book Tour this August 2020. I’m setting up Author Events in Pensacola, Nashville, Denver, Los Angeles, and Dallas. We need money for the stock, the gas, the hotels, etc.
I already have a team who believe in this cause and who are amazing people. There’s an actress, a couple artists, and fellow book lovers.
We’ve figured out most people will see our total goal and back away slowly. Don’t worry about that total goal. No, stop! Don’t think about it. Erase it from your brain! *Jedi mind trick* You will not think of the total goal, you will think of what you can give.
If you can only give $5, that is okay! That’s five bucks closer to the goal. You see, that’s the thing about crowdfunding—which is what GoFundMe is all about—if one hundred people gave $5 each, that’s a total of $500! It doesn’t hurt anybody’s wallet, yet it moves us so much closer to our goal.
That’s about the price of a coffee these days. Most of my team and I believe coffee is an important element of life, but could one coffee be an okay sacrifice for the sake of something that lasts hundreds of years?
Books. They’ve been with us for millennia. An author dies, becoming his books, speaking to someone thousands of years after he’s long gone. Think of that. Coffee—in all its miraculous glory—lasts maybe an hour at the most. Probably cold or lukewarm after that, but still.
Now, think, maybe $10 isn’t that bad of a gift? Say you give $10 to our cause, then share the cause with ten of your friends. They each give $10 and share with ten of their own friends. Guess what, if you all did that ten per day, guess how soon we would have raised $10,000?
FOUR AND A HALF DAYS!
Think about that! If you gave ten dollars the first day then your ten friends gave ten dollars each the second day, that’s already $110! Then each of those ten reach out to ten each of their friends, that’s already a hundred people! On the fifth day, those hundred reached ten people—which, in itself, is already $10,000—There ya go—$11,110 raised in five days.
But, you won’t be giving away free money. This will be something rewarding!
Whatever gift you can give would be amazing!
