My tour manager was shot after show -medical fund

Touring musicians are often faced with setbacks and adversity while out on the road, but no one was prepared for the shock we experienced when my beloved tour manager Phil Jahnke was caught in the crossfire of a driveby shooting outside a venue in Dallas. What had started as a memorable night of music, friendship and late night celebration quickly turned into a traumatic nightmare for all of us, the likes of which happens in the news nearly every day in America but became frighteningly real for all of us that night. We were about 10 days into a tour with our friends in Monuments and Sammy Bolller when 20-30 gunshots rang out in Deep Ellum, an area of downtown Dallas TX, where we were getting pizza after our show. Most of us had made it onto our bandwagon by the time we heard the gunfire and were overcome with shock at a text that Phil was shot in the leg. We ducked down and locked the doors, barely able to process what was happening. We could only wait and hope for the best. Phil was able to call 911 and get a tourniquet applied to his leg while we waited for an abulance to arrive. Phil Jahnke was not involved with any of the perpetrators of the shooting and seems to have been hit with a stray bullet. He is expected to make a full recovery. However, the medical bills for Phil’s ambulance and hospital have stacked up fast and he does not have health insurance.

Phil is the type of guy who will selflessly help anyone out without expecting anything in return and has become an irreplaceable member of our team. It is the least we could do to put together a fund to help him out in his time of need. Any donations are much appreciated to help us pay for his hospital bills and physical therapy. I’m beyond thankful he is okay, as things could have gone so much worse. He is insisting on finishing the tour with us, so any donations past our goal amount will go toward making him for comfortable on tour with his injury, though he will be mostly confined to the bandwagon and merch booth. We also appreciate anyone helping us out by sharing the gofundme link if you aren’t able to donate. Despite his injuries he is in good spirits and said today on the phone, "slap a boot on me and let's go!!"
