Toto needs a new pair of shoes (also medical fund)

On Saturday afternoon, our lil pup Toto started vomiting, and it escalated to a concerning degree. We decided to bring her in to be seen at a 24-hour animal hospital by nighttime, and we were later informed one of her kidneys was failing, and would need to be removed. They discovered a tumor on her adrenal gland which was pressing on her aorta while performing the surgery to see if her other kidney was viable on its own. 

While she was open on the table, we were given ten minutes to decide whether we wanted to close her up and say goodbye or go ahead with the surgery that ran a 60-70% chance that she would hemorrhage and die. We weren’t ready to say goodbye so suddenly (she was totally fine 24 hours previously), so we chose the surgery, and that little scruff ball made it through.

The very fact that we decided to do the surgery, even knowing a rough estimate of how much it would cost, shows a certain degree of privilege on my family’s part that many others aren’t able to take advantage of. Nevertheless, Toto’s expenses are sure to cause quite a bit of a burden to the Ginnaven family. So, if you would like to help us out, here’s your chance. 

It goes without saying that any amount is appreciated. If you want to sacrifice your Postmates order for a night and cook the food you have at home, you should be doing that anyway, but maybe send over that $20 to help Toto (and her humans) instead. Anyone who is willing to help us lessen the burden will be guaranteed at least one (1) really awkward thank you message from yours truly and, obviously, our everlasting gratitude.
