Me llamo Orne, llevo el Caribe en la maleta y con él me muevo dentro y fuera de lo binario, a veces un poquito más allá. Es la madrugada del lunes y estoy dando vueltas en la cama, comiendo techo mientras pienso la forma que han ido tomando mis días desde que me atreví a nombrar el anhelo. Treinta y seis años han sido necesarios para llegar a esta pantalla.

Hace mucho que le sueño un cuerpo distinto a las complejidades que me habitan, hace relativamente poco que lo digo en voz alta. Aquello que veo cuando me pienso con los ojos cerrados y que dibuja siempre una sonrisa sobre mi rostro, ese cuerpo que existe entre el deseo y la necesidad y que precisa de cómplices para alcanzar orilla.

El tramo del viaje que puedo hacer por mi cuenta se agota, la urgencia aprieta y empuja hacia adelante. Las ganas de construir desde lo suave se me desbordan aunque el mundo se sienta particularmente hostil por estos días, aparentemente determinado a temer y odiar todo aquello que contraste con la norma.

Para esta misión, ninguna ayuda es pequeña. Cada céntimo, cada like, cada share es una manera de reafirmar que las personas Trans* merecemos estar y ser a nuestro antojo, merecemos soñar y procurarnos futuros alternativos, repensar lo posible y desdibujarle los bordes.

Una vez lograda la meta y realizada la operación, publicaré un e-zine a modo de testimonio, cada una de las personas que hayan colaborado recibirán una copia en sus correos electrónicos y verán su nombre en los agradecimientos de la publicación.

My name is Orne, I carry the Caribbean in a suitcase while navigating through the binaries, in, out and beyond. I’ve been spinning around in my bed, staring at the ceiling at dawn, ruminating about the shape of my days since I dared put a name to the longing. Thirty six years, that’s how long it took to get here.

For the longest time I’ve dreamed and hoped for a different body to hold the complexities that inhabit me, quite recently I started saying it out loud. That which I see when I close my eyes and never fails to bring a smile to my face, that body that exists between need and desire, that body that requires accomplices to finally be.

The urgency is pushing me forward, in a world that seems so hostile against people like me, the need for companionship becomes a matter of survival. That is why I reach out to all of you, no help is too small. Sharing, liking, contributing…it is all a statement, a gesture that says we: Trans* people, deserve to be, to dream and to create alternate futures that can hold us and empower us.

For those of you that join me in this journey, I will be creating an e-zine about the process, with illustrations, photos and thoughts. The name of my patreons will be added to the credits of the publication and you will receive a digital copy onces the surgery is done and the healing process begins.
