Tonya (Lohse) Walker: The Hairdresser Cutting Out Cancer

Our sister Tonya, was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma on March 13, 2024.

After working with her medical care team, support group, and many conversations with loved ones, she is scheduled to have a double mastectomy on May 6th, 2024 and then reconstructive surgery following the recovery of the mastectomy.

If you know our sister, you know of her servant's heart, always helping those around her. We wouldn't be surprised if she has personally done something thoughtful or kind for you or someone you love. Case in point, the day after she was diagnosed, she was bringing me a care package for influenza. A few days later, she picked up some special treats for our pup who had surgery. She is helping others day in and day out.

Tonya is a self-employed hairstylist and will be missing roughly 12 weeks of work between the double mastectomy and several reconstructive surgeries.

Let's show her some love back!! Our goal is to alleviate the stress of missed income during recovery, compiled with a large health insurance deductible for a self-employed person. All donated funds will allow her to focus on her health and recovery.
