When you encounter the beauty of a soul that continually gives out of great love, it is easy to ask for love and support for her in a time of need. Our dear friend, Tonette Hernandez, lost her courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, July 27th.
For those who have been a part of the James L Collins Catholic School Family during Tonette’s time there, we all know that she has a true servants heart. She has greeted everyone entering the doors of the school with a friendly face and the biggest smile. Something unique about her smile is that her eyes let you know that her smile comes with deep care and understanding. She has always worked so hard to find a solution for whatever anyone needed because she cares immensely. This care has been shown to parents, coworkers, and most of all “her kids”, the students. She has done everything you can imagine to help the entire school family throughout these years. Driving the bus, supervising at lunches and on the playground, typing and running copies, filling parent folders, translating for parents, helping with sick students, and many other tasks have been a part of her time at JLCCS. It is not the tasks that have defined Tonette, but it is the special way in which she has carried out these tasks that has brought love and joy toomany. Tonette has served with a humble heart, only wanting to bring comfort, safety, understanding and love to others. She has never sought recognition for her service and has been one to always seek to lift others up.
We are asking for prayers for her entire family as the grieve the loss of this sweet, caring mother & wife. We know many people want to help and do something for Tonette’ s family in the spirit of how she helped others. Any help possible to help relieve the financial burden placed on her family at this time would be greatly appreciated.
