Tonal Art Music Center Rebuild

With great sadness, I must inform you that the Tonal Art Music Center has been forced to close its doors due to an unexpected 3-alarm fire that broke out on Sunday night. Initially, we were hopeful that we could salvage some of our instruments and equipment, but unfortunately, the fire has spread throughout the building, and we are facing a devastating loss. In response to the overwhelming support from our students and their parents, we have started a fund to rebuild our school and replace all of our lost instruments and music. Our hope is to continue providing high-quality music education to the local community, and with your help, we can make that a reality once again.

 

For a decade, Tonal Art Music Center has been bringing the joy of music to the Jersey City and Hoboken community. My wife Hyeseon Hong and I, Matt Panayides, started this journey humbly by renting space in a downtown Jersey City church in 2011. Since then, we've grown and flourished, moving to our current location on 38B Jackson Street, Hoboken, in December of last year.

We were proud to offer a wide range of music lessons and ensemble classes for all ages and levels, and our preschool music classes were a hit with the little ones. This year, we added new teachers to our team, and our student base grew stronger than ever. We celebrated our successes at our school recital, where our students showcased their talent and hard work on Friday night.

However, just a few days later, our beloved school was devastated by a sudden fire. We are grateful that no one was hurt, but our school suffered significant losses. We are touched by the outpouring of support from our parents, students, and the community. We stand with all small business owners who are going through tough times, and we want to offer our help in any way possible.
