8/3/17 - Update from Nick Garrison:
"So today has been tough. Yesterday, my family sat in a hospital room doing everything they could to make my dad comfortable as he has been battling a very rare cancerous sarcoma that grew on his pancreas. His decline happened very rapidly and, at nine o'clock last night, he passed on. It's horrifying how quickly things declined and we are all deeply saddened and shocked at the loss of such an amazing and selfless and genuine human being.
He was more than that to me though. He was one of my absolute best friends. I could call him about anything, trivial to critical, he always made the time and I know I wasn't the only person he did that for.
It is hard to talk about, and I know that probably won't go away any time soon. I appreciate any kind words anyone wishes to share, and hopefully will have more information soon about a memorial service."

This GoFundMe has been set up by Nick and Jessica. Tom and Lou Ann have been very private about the struggles they've been going through the past several months. They are the kindest, most loving, and generous people we know. They will do anything for their family and friends, and ask for nothing in return. We want to give back to them, and show our love and support. Our hope is to raise enough money, so they don't have to worry about medical bills and other expenses. We want them to be able to focus their energy on helping Tom get healthy again.
Tom went into his doctor on April 3rd, complaining of pain in his stomach area. His doctor, thinking the pain might be from his gall bladder, sent him to Valley ER to get an ultra sound. The test showed a mass that appeared to be in his pancreas and we were told he most likely had pancreatic cancer. After 2 biopsies, 2 bile duct stints, 2 ambulance rides to the hospital, 2 week long stays in the hospital, the thought is now that he has a very rare sarcoma. We have an incredible team of doctors working with us now from both the SCCA and the University of Washington. The course of treatment isn’t completely clear yet but will include both radiation and chemo therapy. We set up a Blog about Tom's Journey. *Update* - Today, June 18th, we showed Tom and Lou Ann the GoFundMe page, and this was Lou Ann's response, "Today, our kids presented us today with funds from GoFundMe that they raised on our behalf from our friends and family we were completely surprised. We felt so blessed and humbled by your incredible response and generosity. Even though we weren’t really ready to share this journey with everyone, we know that our kids were acting out of love and concern and we are so proud of them.
