Tommy’s medical bills and family

Donation protected
Tom Seipel began his ministry at a small rural church in Kentucky. In 2011 he visited Managua, Nicaragua as part of a mission group. Two more trips later, he returned to the States where he sold everything and moved to Nicaragua where he felt God was leading him. For two years, he worked with a boys’ and girls’ home as well as a school in the “dump” of Managua. But in 2013, he felt the need to begin his own ministry. He organized a project that feeds, educates, provides clothes, and teaches about Jesus Christ to 40 children in an extremely poor “barrio”. His project is self-funded, relying on donations from friends and family.

Tom ran to the hospital in early November hoping to just have kidney stones. Unfortunately, the kidney stones turned out to be a huge tumor. The doctors removed Tom's left kidney and a biopsy of the tumor was sent in to the lab. To Tom's horror, cancer was confirmed. Not only cancer, but a very rare type of cancer.  In January, tests were run to find out if it had spread. On February 6th, Tom received news that he has seven 2-3mm size spots in his lungs. The cancer has metastasized to his lungs.  So what's next??? Tom was very fortunate to have friends back in the States that arranged for him to meet with a doctor at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Unfortunately, Tom does not have insurance in the States so his expenses to travel as well as live there during his treatment again must be self-funded. In addition to Tom’s needs, his wife, Margarita, a native Nicaraguan, and three-year old daughter would like to be with him during this very difficult time.

Tom has been blessed with many friends and connections and a great support system. God is in charge and Tom isn't going down without a fight.  Please join "Team Tom" and help pray for and support his family through this battle. Please share his story with  others so more will join this prayer chain. He also can use your financial assistance to bring his family to Ohio and support them throughout his treatment.  He has a big battle, but he isn't alone. After all, the battle belongs to the Lord!
