Tom has always lived his life by never thinking twice about helping others. From March of Dimes, St. Baldrick's Pediatric Cancer, Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity among others, he has always done his best to be available to help those around him, whether he knew you or not, it didn’t matter. Tom was recently diagnosed with Esophageal cancer and learning of the tough road ahead we are turning to our network of friends and family for help with life’s latest challenge. After losing their home to fire a few years ago and battling with the insurance company they took a huge financial hit. They moved to North Carolina in an effort to create the best environment for their family. Tom’s core values include the importance of family and being a good steward of their well-being; respect for those around you and making them feel comfortable with who they are and who they want to be; honesty, commitment and consistency to one’s self and the belief in providing positive reinforcement to others. Both Tom and Dawn have always tried to pass these values along to all, but especially to their five children, Nick, Joe, Mike, CJ, and Julia. Tom is not one to slow down but since his diagnosis, treatment has been pretty tough--and now he has to turn his focus to beating the cancer. We have set up this site to help his five children continue to carry on Tom & Dawn’s values as they move forward into adulthood (3 in college now and 2 more to go!) and to help his entire family with this battle to overcome cancer.
