Paul Thomas Welborn, native of NC, has been the voice of Lee County sports for the past 14 years and prior to that, Victory Sports. Tom has always been enthusiastic about all sports and his knowledge was unbelieveable in all areas of sports. Earned PhD from Tennessee Temple University, Pastor of Southside Baptist Church in Broadway, NC. He was a husband, brother, father, and friend to all. He never met a stranger.
Tom was the Sports Director for WBFT TV 46 and his programs including play-by-play for football, basketball, baseball sports Lee County, Southern Lee, Grace Christian, and Lee Christian sports for the TV station. He also was the host of Heart of Carolina Sports and Family Talk.
This "gofundme" page is set up to help the family with funeral and medical expenses. Smith Funeral Home will be in charge of the final expenses for the funeral and any monies that meet or exceed, will be given to Cheryl Welborn, Tom's wife.
