Tom Barry's Long Road to Recovery

I just wanted to provide a short update on Tom Barry.

Tom has left Henrico Doctors and will be continuing his rehabilitation at home.

He did stop by the Club for a couple of hours last Monday during the Bob Windsor Memorial Tournament.
I guess he missed us as much as we all miss him!

Although the recovery process has been slow, Tom has characteristically dedicated himself to improving his condition and returning to JLCC.

He does enjoy receiving your cards and letters, so if you would like to send him something please send it to:

As many of you already know, Tom Barry suffered a stroke in September.
  
Anyone who knows Tom, knows he is a humble man. We want to help him and his wife, Michelle with the burdens of medical expenses and other unforeseen debt caused by this tragic situation. This will be a long journey of physical therapy and healing. 

Tom’s condition has been steadily improving. He is presently undergoing rehabilitation at Henrico Doctors Hospital. 

As of now, Tom is scheduled to return home on October 18th, where he will continue his rehabilitation. He is expected to encounter a slow recovery and at this stage there is no timetable for a return to JLCC. However, he has already impressed the doctors and therapists with his dedication and hard work, which should not be at all surprising to those of us who have watched and observed his work ethic at the Club!
 
As indicated, Tom’s absence from the Club is expected to be lengthy and the road to recovery will be a difficult one. I would encourage each of you to keep him in your thoughts and prayers and to provide whatever level of ongoing support and encouragement you can. As you all know, Tom is a real treasure and he will be sorely missed during his time away.
