Hi everyone, I’m Marta and thank you for visiting my Go Fund Me page and learning about my current mission.
I’m a normal girl, living in London who’s set herself a huge challenge - to be the world’s first person to complete both the 7 summits (this is the highest mountain on each of the 7 continents - which includes Mount Everest) and the Crown of Europe (the highest peak of each of the 50 countries in Europe).
I truly believe that whatever you set your mind to you can do, which is why I have set myself this huge feat; to climb Mount Everest. In 2018, of all the people who summited Everest, only 12% were women. Although this number is growing slowly each year, I want to ensure it grows more! However it is not an easy task, the climb itself takes between 2-3 months due to acclimatization and only 3-5 out of 10 people who attempt to summit Everest make it to the top.
So the mission is definitely not easy, but I know it is going to be worth it. I’m currently working a normal 9-5 job, whilst running my blog and social media as a part-time business and training 6 days a week. The training is very time consuming and includes 2 intense gym sessions a day, a 6-hour hike each weekend and only one day rest per week...which isn’t rest really as it includes time dedicated to stretching and ensuring my muscles stay healthy during my training season.
The hardest part of the entire project is the cost that it entails. So far, my project and previous peaks have been entirely self-funded, at a cost of £61,000. As I’ve mentioned, my next big step towards completing my mission is to climb Mount Everest, but unfortunately, this comes at a huge cost of £60,000. Therefore, I am currently looking for help with the cost of this expedition in March 2021. I’m very well aware of this high price and don't expect to cover the cost of the entire expedition, but it would be Incredible to cover the cost of gear needed. Therefore, every penny counts and I would truly appreciate any amount that you’re able to give!
