To Haiti With Hope
As many of you know, I was
blessed to travel to Haiti in January 2013. The trip and the experience
was amazing. I saw firsthand the work that God is doing there and was
humbled to serve in just a small way.
While in Haiti it was clear
to me that God was calling me to return and that my family was to share in this
experience. Upon my return to Ohio, I shared this with my wife Karen, my
son Dante and my daughter Evie, they were immediately onboard and we began to
make our plans.
We will be flying to Haiti
on October 12th, 2013 where we will work for nine days and then return home on
October 20, 2013. I am asking for prayers as we continue to prepare for this
trip. With your prayer support, I know God will do amazing things during
this trip.
While in Haiti, we will
again be partnering with Bob & Gretchen DeVoe and their staff from lifeline
Christian Missions. To give you a brief history, 27 years ago, Lifeline
was a vision of Bob & Gretchen. Today, the mission has 9000 students in
their Christian schools and oversee 24 Christian Church congregations in Cube,
El Salvador, Haiti, and Honduras. Also in Haiti, Lifeline provides a
medical and dental clinic, nutritional programs, and an orphanage.
While my family is in Haiti,
we will be working in the kitchen, building small houses, and ministering to
the people of Haiti through preaching and worship.
The total cost of the trip
for our family is $10,000.00, which covers travel expenses, vaccinations plus
supplies. Funds raised above and beyond the cost of the trip will go to
buy food and medicine for the people we will be working with. Would you
