Together For Leo
Donation protected
'Together For Leo' is a campaign to raise money for the Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD) Support Association UK and vital equipment for wee Leo.
Leo was diagnosed with the genetic disease MLD on 26th of October 2015 after spending 3 weeks in The Children's Royal Victoria Hospital. Leo has the form of MLD known as Late Infantile MLD. "In the late-infantile form affected children have difficulty walking after the first year of life, usually at 15-24 months. Symptoms include muscle wasting, muscle rigidity, developmental delays, progressive loss of vision leading to blindness, impaired swallowing, paralysis, and dementia. Late-infantile MLD shortens the lives of children affected. More information on MLD can be found on http://www.mldsupportuk.org.uk/
