Hi all,
Joey and I have put our big ol' hairy noggins together to figure out the best way to raise money for a charity very close to my heart - Mision Mexico. Over the last three years, I have spent close to three months volunteering at Mision Mexico, it is a fantastic organisation that I've come to see as a kind of second family. I definitely plan to return once Covid crazies are finally behind us.
After much deliberation, we've decided that the best course of action that people would actually want to pay money for, (aside from the fact that they'd be supporting a very good cause), is for us to part ways with our incredibly luscious locks.

The really exciting thing about this campaign is that any money raised BEFORE Dec 6th will be matched thanks to The Big Give's 2021 Christmas Campaign! That's right, all of your donations will be doubled. Amazing!

A little more about Mision Mexico:
The Misión México Foundation aims to break cycles of poverty, abuse and inequality; providing opportunities for every child and youth that we care for to succeed. Through long-term solutions like education, practical and emotional care and community development, we provide tools and opportunities for children and youth to advance in every aspect of their lives, becoming the best that they can be.
What will the donations contribute towards?
- To support 20 young men from our local community by providing free English classes, cooking & nutrition classes, positive masculinity & wellbeing workshops. We develop skills and tools for building healthy relationships, reducing rates of anxiety & depression, and gaining employment skills.
- To fund 365 hours per month of health and wellbeing services, including therapy, extra-curricular activities, wellbeing techniques such as meditation, and access to medical specialists.
- To run and maintain our three residential homes and one community outreach centre, where we will provide safe spaces and access to health, wellbeing, and educational services for our 50 children and youth.
