Help us get Women's Care Bags to Aurukun
Donation protected
At the beginning of 2020 the First Nations Women's Water Alliance and the Allies of the First Nations Women's Water Alliance Groups fundraised and collected donations to make up a number of Care Bags for women in living in Aurukun. These bags have been designed to be given to women that are seeking medical attention or that are being transported out of Aurukun to be medically treated or that have to leave community to have their babies.
We were informed that many women that present for medical intervention do not have the essential personal and hygiene items for their stay whilst receiving medical assistance or their stays in the hospitals that they are being transferred to.
So, the First Nations Women's Water Alliance and their Allies banned together to change this narrative. The Care Bags have been made up and are filled with love by two amazing women, Anne and Demi, they have been topped up with beautiful new personal hygiene products thanks to a company called 'Pinchy Poo' in Melbourne and some amazing women generously purchased items and or made cash donations to purchase items to go into the Care Bags.
Our problem is, we have the Care Bags but now we can't get them to Aurukun so we are asking for support to raise funds to transport the Care Bags from Glass House Mountains to Aurukun.
We would love to get the Care Bags to Aurukun before Christmas for those women requiring medical attention over that Christmas and New Year period because as we know that this time of the year is when people are more vulnerable and in need of support.
Thank you for your time and generous donation!!
