To save my wee dogs leg

Hi everyone.
My name is John and I have a 2 year old shih-poo his name is buddy .
Last year we had buddy out for a walk .
Half way heading back home I seen this pitbull charging towards us . I lifted buddy to safety but this pitbull jumped up and sank its jaws into buddys leg. This owner did not have his dog one lead and he was not in control of it .
We took buddy to the vet to be told that his leg is broken and and they would have to plate it and see if it helps knit the bone back .
That was 11 months ago and it hasn't worked he is in so much pain we took him back to the vet and he said he can only keep giving him pain relief that or amputate his leg but he then gave us hope that a specialist up in Stirling might be able to help I was all for this help. The xrays of buddys leg was sent up to him.
We just got the news that there is hope in saving buddys leg but it's not guaranteed. But was told by the specialist if he didn't think that this operation to help fix buddys leg then he wouldn't go ahead with the procedure but he has hope that it will .but at a cost £4000 .
He was such a fun loving we thing always playing and up to mischief all the time now he now just sits and looks so miserable and crys with pain .
Please help me to make this wee guy life better thank you
