Hi my name is Davina Hall and in December 2022 I became a right below knee amputee.
After losing my leg I was determined not to just sit around and feel sorry for myself, and I found out about Para Ice Hockey.
After reaching out to my local team, and learning more about the sport, I joined the Peterborough Phantoms Para Ice Hockey Team in 2023.
I initially played as out as a forward, but when the team lost their netminder the following year I jumped at the chance of giving it a go and have loved being a goalie ever since!
I have since become a team member for the Great Britain Women's Para Ice Hockey team and I played my 1st International game against USA in Skien, Norway at the WPIH Women's World Challenge in 2024.
I am hoping to go to Slovakia with GB for the inaugural World Para Ice Hockey Womens World Championship in the Autumn of 2025. The World Championship is the first step in getting Womens Para Ice Hocley in the 2030 Winter Paralympic Games.
The sport of Para Ice Hockey is all self funded, even at an International level. The cost of attending the Training Camps and the International tournaments amounts to several thousand pounds each year. I have setup this GoFundMe to help me to meet the financial requirements to be a part of GB and be a part of the Paralympic journey and to keep the dream alive of one day playing in a Winter Paralympics for Great Britain.
I would be very grateful for any donations towards the cost of being a part of the GB National Programme and going to Slovakia.
