To Be There For His Daughter

In 2016, a dear friend and fellow plumber very close to the Wentworth Plumbing team (let’s call him James, he's a very private man), woke up to the worst day of his life.  His 8-year-old daughter had aspirated in her sleep, the result of undiagnosed diabetes that had not been caught in time by medical professionals.  Placed in a drug-induced coma, she had to have a foot amputated due to complications and was immediately put on the list for a double lung transplant. 

James’ daughter – the light of his life, received the lung transplant, but they were told that many children do not survive beyond 5 years. Together they have worked toward her recovery, hoping for the best while in the back of their minds, preparing for the worst.  
 
Today, his daughter is 12 years old.  And today, James, his daughter, and her mother are facing the unimaginable.  Back at the Hospital for Sick Children, they have been told to prepare themselves to say goodbye as their daughter’s lungs are now failing her. They hope for another transplant but have been told that it is unlikely a match will be found. 

 He wants to be there for his daughter.  And yet he can feel the waves crashing in on him as expenses pile up while the rest of the world keeps turning. What James wants is to be able to be present and to give his undivided attention to his daughter every chance he gets. We can help him to stay afloat and show our support.  Any donation will help to allow James to spend more time with his daughter, to pay for transportation costs to work and to Toronto, and to take some of the pressure off him financially.
