Robert's Autism Awareness USA Trip

Autism can be frightening to those unfamiliar with, or that are misinformed about the condition.    People that have Autism are different than most people, different is scary, however, different does not mean negative.  So, why is a shooting range talking about Autism?  Well, one of the different, but positive traits of a person with Autism is intense passion.  We were recently made aware of a wonderful person from Ireland named Robert Palmer.  Robert Palmer is a 22 year old, who has an intense passion and interest in military and firearm history.  Robert has a diagnosis of Autism, which he has had a very hard time coming to terms with, but he and his family are doing their best to help work through it.  He is passionate about spreading awareness about the positive traits of Autism.  Robert is very interested in what is happening in the world, particularly the various wars both past and present.  He is always researching and learning more every day!  Robert has been interested in guns for a number of years and would like to get the chance to shoot some of the firearms he has studied.  In Ireland, they have gun law restrictions and do not have gun ranges/clubs or like we do here in the States.  Robert has written many letters to us here at Buffalo Range, in hopes of one day coming to visit our range to shoot some of our firearms under the supervision of our Range Safety Officers.

We here at The Buffalo Range Foundation, would like to ask for your help.  We are raising money to bring Robert and his Mother here, to Buffalo Range Shooting Park, so he can have the experience of a lifetime and help him to spread his positive message.  We are more than honored that he has chosen us, and would like to request donations to help with travel expenses to bring Robert and his Mother here from Ireland.

There are many stigmas when it comes to Autism, as well as Guns, it’s time to shine a positive light on these things.
