Tina Fells McCombs Memorial Fund for The Future
This $110,274 fundraiser is organized to provide secure stability and support for the 6 children and 3 grandchildren of Tina Marie Fells McCombs. On January 9th, she was taken away due to a stabbing death, marking the first homicide in Saint Paul of 2022. Tina’s children and entire family are in deep disbelief, grievance, and terror after this unfortunate loss. There is still no clear explanation to the cause of this tragedy and the family is searching for answers. The killer has been book and charged with counts of murder and burglary and now the family will await for the chance to receive justice.
Tina is well known and remembered as a guiding mother to all, no matter your walk of life. Her light and spirit gave support to others who struggled with addiction, family separation, and stability of their own. She has touched many hearts and souls during her 47 years on earth. Providing shelter, healing, and support for the community around her. She is the pure definition of someone who is caring, nurturing, and selfless. She is also a resilient, courageous fighter. She is survivor of many life obstacles. Her children are determined to cultivate a space that will provide resources and support the well-being of black women experiencing substance abuse, mental health issues, or housing stability. The name will will honor their mother - “Tina’s Healing Home”. In order for them to pursue their dreams, they must have proper sustainability first.
She preceded in death 6 young men and boys. Her oldest, 28, James McCombs, Lewis McCaleb, 24, Louis McCaleb, 20, who has one year old boy and two five month year olds girls of his own. Next in line is KingLewes McCaleb, 17. The two youngest are Nathaniel Williams, 12, and Albert Williams, 3, currently being taken care of by their Auntie. Tina and her boys all shared the same desire of soon being reunited in one big home altogether as immediate family should. Unfortunately for her children, that dream is killed, but they understand that they have each other still.
These funds will assist her sons and help them urgently meet their immediate basic needs while also pursuing future aspirations of securing home ownership and fulfilling their mother’s final wishes. These funds will also help assist the victims’ mother with stability and securing a safe haven for her future. We are asking for the community to pitch in and help fund the future of Tina’s seeds. Anything is appreciated, momma always said “get what you get and don’t have a fit”. $110,274 are matching numbers to Tina’s birthdate of 11/02/74. It is also just enough to help tangibly provide stability.
