Tim DeGeest Heart Transplant

Tim DeGeest is our brother-in-law, married to Sarah's younger sister, Carrie. Tim is 44 years old and Tim & Carrie have been married 20 years. They have been blessed with four children, Isaac (12), Ian (8), Annika (6), and Eli (3).
Tim needs a heart transplant.
A few years ago, after fainting a number of times Tim was diagnosed with advanced heart failure, despite being quite young and in otherwise great health. The cause of this is not known, though it could have been due to an infection as a child. Doctors have tried a number of things, including medications to help his condition, but it has only gotten worse (which they basically expected) and his heart health has deteriorated very rapidly the past few months so that he is now officially on the heart transplant list.
The week after Thanksgiving 2019 Tim was admitted to Spectrum Health Butterworth/Downtown in Grand Rapids, MI, so medical professionals can keep his heart working until a heart becomes available.
There are many stories Tim & Carrie and the rest of our family can tell of God's providential care for this dear family in the past several years and even in the past couple of weeks.
There is a large financial need starting and looming for the family related to insurance co-payments, loss of income, etc. This is common with heart transplants, even when you have good insurance, like they do, as a quick search on gofundme reveals. As their loved ones, we wanted to create this opportunity to help and we're praying people will feel led to contribute to this great need for this young family.
