Tiffany Gagliardi’s Cancer Fight in her Second Trimester

Donation protected
Hello,

It’s impossible not to ask why do bad things happen to good people. This story is the definition of that statement. Tiffany is facing a cancer battle while 24 weeks pregnant with her first healthy pregnancy after losing two other babies, and only one income to pay for it all. I thank you for taking the time to read through her tragic story and consider donating!

EVERYONE will tell you that this young woman is the most kind, selfless, thoughtful person you could ever meet. She will be the best support you need while still being the most down to earth person. She is an amazing nurse and cares for some of the victims of violence and severe trauma in an ICU in the city. She is my best friend and the godmother to my daughter. If you haven’t met her I guarantee you’d love her just as much as we do!

Her story starts when she and her husband Andrew met at work and have been inseparable since. Andrew popped the question in December of 2017 and they started their plans to get married in 2018. Shortly after this found out they were pregnant!

Excitement was an understatement for this newly married couple. However, excitement shortly turned to worry as they were told that their baby girl had a rare anatomical defect know as gastroschisis. They were assured it was treatable and that they would have everything planned for the best care postpartum.

I’ll avoid as much of this horrific part of the story as it is just the beginning. Addison was born on March 30th, 2019. Sadly, she only lived 8 days as she passed away in her mother’s arms during the first and last time, she ever got to hold her on April 7th, 2019.

This time in their lives was a nightmare. Though, with the support of her village, she persevered and handled this tragedy with more grace than I have ever seen by anyone else.

Not long after, they were pregnant again. Unfortunately, at his anatomy scan, the couple was informed that the baby had a congenital abnormality, completely unrelated to Addison’s, that was not survivable, and they lost their second baby, Owen.

The years were hard after the loss of two babies and the emotional turmoil as she watched her mother with the diagnosis of breast cancer. Through it all the couple was strengthened with the love of her family and her 100lb “thinks-he-is-a-lapdog” bull mastiff Otis.

I am so happy to share that Tiffany is now 24 weeks pregnant with a healthy active rainbow baby boy!
Everyone has been beyond excited for the couple! Finally getting to have the joy they have deserved for such a long time!

Tragically, on Friday March 29th, a day before what would have been her daughter’s fifth birthday, she found out she has invasive breast cancer.

Tiffany will now have to have chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation. This will start while she is pregnant as her baby will be able to tolerate the chemo and first surgery. While postpartum she will have her second surgery and radiation.

This is a story no one has ever wanted to tell. But I hope if you have the ability to donate you will take that opportunity as this family is facing the financial hardship of a new baby and extensive medical costs all on one income.

Tiffany is a casual employee, so she does not receive any sick time, short/long term disability to cover the time off for surgery, maternity leave, chemo/radiation. The cost of medical bills and a newborn will weigh heavily on their family.

We thank you for considering a donation to this family in need!
