Tie Peter’s Skates

Hi, my name is Tyson Tame and I am creating a gofundme in support of a very special person and a dear friend to many, luckily including myself.

Peter Nissen has recently received a diagnosis that we are all susceptible to and one for which there is no way to prepare oneself for. Peter has a cancer tumour that must be shrunk prior to a potential removal. Chemotherapy and Radiation are some of the challenges ahead.

Peter, the extremely hard worker that he is, is now unable to work and therefore to earn. Since Dana’s stroke in 2016, Peter has been the sole income earner in the household and I know he worries about the future financially. I’m doing this because Peter is a humble man, he would not ask for help for himself, instead always serving others.

Peter is an exceptional friend and has shown great care for others for many many years. As East End Community Centre volunteers, both himself and Dana gave of themselves daily for years. The EECC was a place for so many children and adults alike to build memories. Even my own daughter Shayla fondly remembers him tying her skates regularly. This is just one example of Peter’s willingness to put others first. Peter used to drive me to Sunday School at Calvary Temple on the big purple bus beginning when I was 7 years old, you are really old Peterino!

Peter has a solid work ethic, you can count on him to fight this challenge with all of his might. My goal is to bring people together to financially assist him (& Dana) so that he can channel all of his energy towards renewed health. I am sure the bills will pile up quickly, and the amount I have set here will likely not be sufficient, but my hope is that it relieves some strain on this beautiful couple during this challenge.

100% of the funds (aside from any fees charged by gofundme) will be used by Peter & Dana at their discretion and for whatever needs they may have. Only Peter, Dana, and their daughter Kayla Drakeley will have the authority to make withdrawals.

Stay tuned for a separate art auction that will take place in the near future. I will auction off some of my Weiming Zhao collection to the highest bidder(s) with 100% of the funds being donated directly to Peter & Dana.
