Help us save Tick Tock

Donation protected

Our kitten Tick Tock came into our lives on Saturday, February 21st. We saw her for the first time earlier in the month as a feral cat with her mom. A week after our first encounter, we found her mother had passed. Without knowing if she had survived or how she was surviving, we kept an eager eye out for Tick Tock. Once we were able to capture and bring her into our home, we came across our first hurdle. Upon taking her to our veterinarian, we learned that she was only 4 weeks old. It was confirmed that she was more than likely still nursing when her mother had passed. Being malnourished and with flea anemia, we were able to bring her back to health. She started to play with our other two grown cats once she regained her strength back. It was then that we quickly came to realize that the biggest hurdle has yet to be jumped. We noticed that she had a slight limp, and brought her back to the vet. She was diagnosed with a fractured hip and diaphragmatic hernia. Being a feral animal, we have no idea how long she has been living with these conditions. This is where we need help. Her leg surgery and her corrective surgery for her hernia will range from $2,000 and up. Time is a factor as she is in need of an emergency surgery because her stomach is now in her chest cavity. With that, she is now at risk of not being able to eat nor drink. Each day that we don't do the surgery, we run into a higher risk of multiple things going wrong. Ranging from a compressed heart to twisted intestines that can prevent her from urinating and/or defecating. The specialist we saw waived our ultrasound and visit fee. Not to mention giving us a severe discount on the surgery because herself and her entire team wants to help us so desperately bad. We were originally quoted that the hernia surgery could cost us $10,000 and up, plus the hip surgery would cost us $3,000. So having to only pay a sixth of what we originally thought is a huge relief and a much more tangible goal. Tick Tock is proving to be a survivor because even with the severity of these injuries, she is still able to play with our two grown cats. Anything will help. Nothing is too small. Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story.
